PortAventura World presents new hotel brand Ponient Hotels

Through this launch, the company will further its new strategic hotel approach that focuses on managing off-resort accommodation

The PortAventura World resort, which is recognised the world over for its theme parks and hotels, is launching a new brand of family leisure and holiday hotels that encompasses the range of hotels managed off-resort. Ponient Hotels by PortAventura World has a clear focus on beach holidays in conjunction with the entertainment provided by the PortAventura World resort, and currently boasts 3 hotels: Hotel Ponient Villa Centric in Vila-seca, Hotel Ponient Dorada Palace and Hotel Ponient Pirámide, both of which are in Salou.

The aim of the new brand is to offer visitors to the Costa Dorada an unbeatable experience, together with the fun at the theme parks, whilst enjoying a holiday as a family or a couple. Therefore, the stays include 1, 2 or 3-day passes and free transfers to the theme parks, as well as further discounts on PortAventura World products.

The choice of the name "Ponient" is a nod to the cardinal point meaning “West", says David García, General Manager of PortAventura World, because "we want to offer our customers the most comprehensive holiday experience in the "West" and for families and couples who visit us to enjoy a holiday in the purest of Mediterranean style". "The key to Ponient Hotels is not only about being very close to the resort, but also about the fine sandy beaches and other tourist attractions in the area, as well as the fundamental enclaves and infrastructures of tourism in Spain, and more specifically on the Costa Dorada", he stressed.

With Ponient Hotels by PortAventura World, the company aims to help improve the attractiveness of the hotel offer in the area by using its knowledge and its own development capabilities to update the hotels involved, following the resort's ESG criteria, and to attract a higher quality segment of tourists.

With this business diversification strategy, the company expects to double the amount of rooms it handles over the next few years, thus reaching 6,000. The company currently has nine 4 and 5-star hotels with more than 3,000 rooms.
